Minimalism and trail work

I used to watch the Woodright Shop when I was a little kid. He carried his tools for a few miles in the intro each show. He would use just hand tools to make things after his morning hike. On our Florida Trail trips in the wilderness we cannot use any tools with gears or motors.

Something about slowly doing a job correct feels so good. It can be important to get a lot done since we only have so much time in the world. But the feeling of the slow grind to enjoy the hard work feels special.
